The Lord Planted A Garden

Wednesday January 1, 2025
The Lord planted a garden.  I find the creation account in Genesis remarkable.  God, the Creator of all things, simply spoke a word and things came into existence.  While we see the miraculous power of God simply speaking things into existence, we also see other aspects of God’s creative work.  For example, have you ever notices that the Bible says, “The Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east” (Genesis 2:8).  In Genesis 1 it says that “God said, ‘Let the earth produce vegetation; seed bearing plants and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds’” (Genesis 1:11).  Yet, the Garden of Eden seem to be a special place specifically for Adam and Eve.  And, there, God planted a garden.  I don’t think this is just semantics.  The garden seemed to be created especially for mankind and it was God, Himself, that planted the garden.  God gave Adam and Even something very special, just for them, to tend and work.  Unfortunately, they wanted something more.   God has done something very special for us.  Let’s be satisfied with what the Lord has provided for us.
