Bezalel and Oholiab

Bezalel and Oholiab.  Do these names sound familiar?  Do they stand out at all?  My guess is probably not.  We remember names of people like, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Noah, and Moses.  We have studied various aspects of their lives and how God worked in their lives. However, there are some individuals that did very important things that we don’t spend much time studying.  There are some in Scripture whose names are not even mentioned.  Bezalel was the son or Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah (Exodus 31:2).  The Lord filled him with His Spirit, with wisdom, understanding, and ability in every craft (v.3).  This was for the work of the items to be made and used in the Tabernacle.  Oholiab was the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan and he was to work with Bezalel.  God, too, put wisdom in his heart, and with “every skilled artisan” in order to make all that God had command for the Tabernacle (v.6).  Every work that we do for the Lord is important.  The work you do for the Lord, and in your service to the church, is important.  God has given you a gift, please do not neglect it.   It is a much needed gift for the building up of the church.  Let’s work together, trusting in the Lord, to accomplish the work set before us.
