Love

Love!  Part of our daily reading today was Psalm 45.  This is a psalm about a royal wedding; a king and his bride.  As you probably have already determined, Christ, the King, is the groom and the church is the bride.  Think about what this means for us.  Jesus loves us!  Can you believe that?  As I think back on my life and remember the times I have sinned against the Lord, yet Jesus loved me enough to die for me.  God proves His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).  Today, I wanted to remind you that you are loved!  It is not anything we have done to earn, or even deserve, but we are loved!  This love should draw us closer to the Lord.  What can we do to show our appreciation and love to such a King?  One of the instructions to the bride is, “forget your people and your father’s house, and the king will desire your beauty.  Bow down to him for he is your lord” (Psalm 45:10-11).  God’s love for us should not cause us to be comfortable or selfish in our decision and behaviors.  We should respond with such awe that a King would love us that we want to be devoted and committed to Him!  Please consider this and take time to praise the Lord today for His love for you!
