Forgiving Power Through Prayer - Part 2

Wednesday May 8, 2024
Forgiving power through prayer – Part 2.  The remainder of the Book of Hosea continues to portray the faithful love, or mercies, of God.  Again, despite all that Israel had done in sinning and turning away from God, God stood ready to forgive.  Listen to this plea from God to Israel, “Israel, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.  Take words of repentance and return to the Lord.  Say to Him: ‘Forgive all our iniquity and accept what is good, so that we may repay you with praise from our lips’” (Hosea 14:1-2).  Isn’t that amazing?  True repentance leads to forgiveness, and forgiveness leads to praise.  There is one other verse that I would like to share that speaks to the depths of sin that God not only is able to forgive, but wants to forgive.  God says, “I will heal their apostasy.  I will freely love them, for my anger will have turned from him” (v.4).  God stands ready and able to forgive, and to heal the deepest of sinful wounds.  If you are reading this today, please remember the depths of God’s love for you and His desire to forgive and heal.  This forgiveness and healing is only one prayer away.  Please call upon the Lord today.
